GEO. DIEGO AZCURRA

 

Diego, (born 1971) , has Argentine Nationality, Professional Registration No. 2638, member of the Higher Professional Council of Geology. Diego currently work as a consultant geologist specialist Remote Sensing. From March 2013 to November 2014 Diego worked as a geologist in, Remote Sensing HYTEC ALTO AMERICAS SA as technical manager in several anomaly detection projects due to natural leaks of hydrocarbons from multispectral and hyperspectral images in the, Tumaco basins, Chocó, Urabá, San Jacinto and lower Magdalena Valley, Guajira and, Cordillera Oriental in Colombia for the National Hydrocarbons Agency. In the private sector, since 2009 Diego has performed various external consultants, using satellite images for the detection of hydrocarbons and minerals. Prior to February 2013 Diego worked in the SEGEMAR (Geological Survey, Argentine Mining Agency) in the Remote Sensing Unit and GIS, as Geologist specialized in processing, interpretation and analysis of satellite images, terrain elevation models and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), where Diego formed different generation projects with geological and environmental mapping. Also, Diego has taught courses on Remote Sensing training, using ASTER data for different national and international institutions. Diego has experience in geological applications of radar images (SAR), hyperspectral and multispectral satellite or airborne sensors for, detection of minerals by their spectral characteristics. He also has experience in spectral measurements in the field with GER 3700 spectrometer and FTIR micro GPS and decision points in differential mode. He has experience in managing programs and GIS Remote Sensing ERDAS, ENVI, ER MAPPER, ILLWISS, IDRISI, ARC and ARC VIEW GIS. He has a Degree in Geological Sciences, graduated from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Buenos Aires.
